Pay your St. Alban's Pledge
"Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work." ~ 2 Corinthians 9:7-8
We invite you to join us in cheerful giving in response to God’s generosity to all of us! Your donations to St. Alban's Chapel support our wide variety of ministries, especially to the students of LSU. The weekly “Lunch with C.S. Lewis” is among the popular opportunities the chapel has to reach out to the larger campus population

Why I Make a Pledge to St. Alban’s Chapel
by Donna Sentell
Attending St. Alban’s Chapel always gives me a feeling of ‘I’m home’. I love the small congregation and cozy setting of the chapel.
Sitting in the pew preparing for the service, I love watching the people gather: LSU students, professors, professionals, couples, singles, young families: all representatives of God’s people, coming together to worship in the Anglican tradition. It is during this preparation ritual that I thank God for my church family, the beautiful sacred space, and the opportunity to be in communion with the people of St. Alban’s.
It never fails: the sermons regardless of who is preaching, Drew, Howard, Skully, Camille, or even the Bishop, seem to be directed right at me. If I’m worried or overthinking some situation in my life, the readings and sermons offer just the perspective and peace I need.
My favorite part of the worship at St. Albans is the choir and music. Often I close my eyes and imagine this must be what the choirs in heaven sound like. The acoustics are always mentioned as one of the best features of the chapel, but none of that really matters if it’s not filled with angelic voices and the perfect musical accompaniment. St. Alban’s offers a variety of ministries to either participate in or benefit from. I’ve particularly enjoyed being a part of the Sunday evening dinners for the students. It’s been fun getting to know other parishioners as we prepare the meals and getting to visit with the students. Holy Threads, for those who enjoy knitting and crocheting and visiting over a cup of tea, has provided a wonderful social opportunity of many of us. The group has also generated an abundance of prayer shawls, hats, lap blankets, and other items lovingly stitched and given to those needing to feel the warmth and prayers from the congregation.
A summertime highlight is the annual retreat at the Solomon Center. It’s a fun, relaxing environment and provides an ideal way to get to know so many of God’s people attending St. Alban’s chapel. It’s at these times that I realize I’m right where God wants me to be, and with the people He has put in my life. It’s both here and in all of the opportunities at St. Alban’s that give me the warm, welcoming and comforting feeling of ‘I’m home’.
Why We Love St. Alban’s Chapel
by Jim Willis & Emily Stich
When we first got engaged a hundred years ago, Jim was cradle Episcopalian and Emily was Roman Catholic to the core. Because worshipping together was important to us, we actively shopped around Baton Rouge for a church that suited both of us. Choosing St. Alban's Chapel was way easier than choosing a china pattern. We felt at home, welcomed, and brought into the vibrant spiritual life that is St. Alban's Chapel. Even in our newlywed poverty, we made a pledge to St. Alban’s Chapel. And now, at the other end of our lives, we've included St. Alban’s Chapel in our estate plans. The Chapel gives our lives depth, grounding, and meaning. Along with the incredibly supportive community/congregation, we have grown in love and faith as children of God. Missing a Sunday puts the rest of our week out of kilter. The Lord has truly blessed us by putting St. Alban's squarely at the center of our lives.
Why We Pledge to St. Alban’s Chapel
by Sam Stroope
Growing up, I moved about every two years, living in several states and countries. My parents were Southern Baptist missionaries. Fast forward a number of years. I moved with my wife and two children to Baton Rouge in 2013 and, after months of church visiting, we chose St. Alban's Chapel.
In St. Alban’s, we found a down-to-earth congregation, yet graceful in rich liturgy. Fr. Drew’s sincerity and that of others we met made St. Alban’s an easy choice for us. We were also attracted to the congregations’ active involvement in the liturgy and participation in the church calendar that has formed the faith of so many Christians across history. And, of, course the stunning music.
I teach sociology at LSU and find that in my day-to-day work researching and teaching about human divisions and problems, it’s easy to lose sight of the sacred. St. Alban's is a congregation that continually ministers to me week after week, points me back to God’s grace, and is a joy to support financially.
