Knit Your Bit is an initiative started in 2006 by the World War II Museum in New Orleans that distributes scarves to local veterans in hospitals, service centers and service organizations. https://www.nationalww2museum.org/programs/knit-your-bit
The initiative has now spread to all fifty states and since inception has distributed 50,000 scarves.
Holy Threads completed the below scarves for veterans in our local area. In the future personal notes of thanks for service can be included as well as the name of individual who knit/crocheted the scarf.
We have patterns, yarn and note cards if interested in joining in this effort. Please talk to to Liz for further details.
Thank you messages from our lovely parishioners. . .
As a recipient of one of your group’s shawls I would like to give my thanks. I really needed the warming comfort when I was in the hospital and I often have it on this winter. It warms not only the body but also my soul.
Many, Many thanks.

Dear Holy Threads Members, I want to thank you for the wonderful shawl and your prayers. I am doing better but still have some health issues. I so appreciate your thoughts. I’m looking forward to being more active.
With love, Lynn
Dear Liz, A big Thank you to you and your knitting group for the pretty shawl that Father Drew brought to me from you all. It is being put to good use in this very cold weather, and it is is very warm! I hope to be back at St Alban’s soon, but we do have a weekly service here and also one every other Sunday. Happy New year to you and all the group!

Thank you very much for the beautiful blanket and knit booties. Evie did not have her own blanket yet, and this quickly became her special blankie! I can’t tell you how my it means to us to receive such a labor of love.
Thank you all so much! Susie Anders
